FORCE10 NETWORKS AND FOUR POINTS TECHNOLOGY PARTNER TO DELIVER RELIABLE AND COST EFFECTIVE NETWORKING SOLUTIONS TO GOVERNMENT ENVIRONMENTS

SAN JOSE, Calif., January 27, 2009 – Force10 Networks®, the pioneer in building and securing reliable networks, today announced a partnership with Four Points Technology that enables Four Points to represent the entire Force10 product line on its GSA schedule.  The agreement provides Force10 with expanded access to federal, state, and local government agencies that rely on GSA schedules as their preferred procurement channel.

“Government applications represent some of the most complex and demanding networks in the world and by partnering with industry-leading vendors like Force10, we can offer the most advanced and cost-effective technology available,” said David Gilchrist, president and CEO for Four Points Technology.  “With solutions ranging from the data center, LAN/core to the wiring closet, the Force10 product portfolio delivers an unmatched combination of density, scalability, and resiliency that enables us to also provide government agencies with a wide range of solutions that best fit their specific needs.”

Force10 offers government agencies choice through an open architecture and standards-based approach to networking. By utilizing the high performance and port densities of the Force10 TeraScale E-Series switch/router, networks can be designed with fewer elements and layers.  The Force10 C-Series family of resilient switches and the Force10 S-Series family of access switches enable government agencies to deploy an IP converged network for unified communications.  In addition, the high capacity, standards-based Power over Ethernet of the chassis-based C-Series and the S50V and S25V access switches enable deployment of a VoIP solution from any vendor.

Several government organizations already rely on the reliability and uncompromising system throughput of the TeraScale E-Series to anchor their network infrastructure, including the U.S. Army, NASA, NOAA, Department of Energy Labs, as well as Los Alamos National Lab and Oak Ridge National Lab, whose supercomputers rank number one and five, respectively, in the most recent Top500.org list.

“Being included on Four Points Technology’s GSA schedule gives Force10 an effective avenue to extend its reach and pursue government opportunities that require building secure and reliable networks at the lowest total cost of ownership,” said George DeLisle, Force10 vice president of federal sales.  “Force10 believes that networks should be simple to design, deploy and, most importantly, simple to manage and operate.  From the federal level to local municipalities, these agencies and departments can look to Force10 and Four Points Technology for industry-leading network infrastructure, delivered and implemented in a timely fashion with exceptional customer service and support.”

The Force10 Reliable Networking product portfolio supports advances in reliability, network control and scalability that enable enterprises to lower their total cost of ownership.  By building a flexible network that is ready to support emerging and evolving applications, enterprises can optimize their networks for current needs as well as future requirements.
